Family and Parent Involvement in OOSH

Children’s most important cognitive development occurs during their first 8 years of life. By parents taking an active role in the education process, parents can help ensure that they child has the support they need to develop to their full potential. Parental involvement helps extend teaching outside the classroom, creates a more positive experience for children and helps children perform better during their schooling years.

What role can parents play at our service?

  • Parents can assist with feedback for the service to improve the everyday practices through pick-up conversations, surveys and emails.
  • Parent involvement in sporting activities, why not join in a game of basketball or handball during pick-up of your child?
  • Donate ideas, pre-loved resources and time to the service.
  • Share your experience and knowledge with the service whether it be your work experience, life experience or rich cultural backgrounds.
  • Participating in our services Community Recipe Book, adding photos and recipes to share with other families.

By participating in our service, you foster your child’s learning and are directly involved in decision making day-today. A stronger relationship between yourself, and your child’s educators will form. Contact the Nominated Supervisor to arrange a time to participate in our weekly program.
