Spontaneous Play.

The children this week have been engaging in some reading, which is highly encouraged by the educators, This however has sparked an interest in gemstones, which extended on children building various coloured gemstones with Lego, as well as various discussions with the children, their interest was extended with children learning where gemstones and other stone materials can be found, and we found out that it isn’t just found on the ground, but also on trees and in the water.

To extend on this interest, the children will be making their own crystals and we will be bringing in some stones so the children can see how they sparkle but also feel the textures of some of the stones.

We will also be going on a bit of a walk to see if we can locate any stones in our school, Build upon different materials, and guess what certain things are made of.

Learning Outcome: 2 Children are connected with and contribute to their world.
