Constructing Shapes.

This engaging STEM activity lets kids create their own structures with just two household items. Working with toothpicks and marshmallows, kids will learn to manipulate elements to assemble larger structures – a key skill in construction play.

If you don’t have tooth picks or marshmallows you can also use pencils and blue tack.

Play a sport game

Playing sport helps children learn to control their emotions and channel negative feelings in a positive way. It also helps children to develop patience and understand that it can take a lot of practice to improve both their physical and their social/emotional abilities.

Benefits of sport for children

  • reduced risk of obesity.
  • increased cardiovascular fitness.
  • healthy growth of bones, muscles, ligaments and tendons.
  • improved coordination and balance.
  • a greater ability to physically relax and, therefore, avoid the complications of chronic muscular tension (such as headache or back ache).
