COVID-19: Cardiovascular Disease

If you have Cardiovascular Disease and are over 65 years, or are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander over 50, the most important thing you can do to protect yourself is follow your care plan and attend regular appointments with your health management team.

Here are some ways to keep yourself healthy:

  • Take medications as prescribed by your doctor, and do not stop medications unless advised.
  • If you have concerns, phone your GP or specialist as soon as possible.
  • If you go to hospital take all your medications with you.
  • Ensure you have made arrangements with family, friends or neighbours if you live alone that can assist you.
  • Keep your vaccinations up to date.
  • Be active, engage in regular household work, walk up and down stairs, garden and general cleaning. Reduce periods of time sat down.
