Mindful Monday Project.

We are focusing on the active child for this week, and part of the active child is also incorporating their fine motor abilities as well as focusing on their gross motor skills.

So we began Mindful Monday program by allowing the children to apply their creative self expressions, as well as using different implements to create art that they wouldn’t normally use.

We gave the children plastic forks and paddle pop sticks and different coloured paint as well a large sheet of cardboard, the children gathered around the craft table and began what felt natural to them, they started with the forks and use them to create various patterns on the cardboard, the children took it upon themselves to get create by using different coloured paint and mixing the paint and see what the new color outcome would be.

This experience extended the interest for the educators as well, as they sat with the children and got creative with them.

As well as focusing on extending their fine motor abilities, this also allowed the children to be social with one another, as they explained the different colours they were using and describing the color outcomes.

Learning outcome: Children Have a strong sense of wellbeing.
