This term the children have been involved in various science experiences they particularly enjoyed seeing the balloon helium and the lava lamp experiment , in addition to those activities the children have been involved in the rain cloud experiment, involving water, shaving cream and blue food coloring.

The children gathered around the table as educator Natalia and Amy assisted in conducting this experience with the children, Natalia asked the children what thought would happen and what was expected to be the result, some of the children answered that the water and saving cream would fuse together and create one big rain cloud, some of the others responded that they didn’t quite know what to expect.

So we proceeded to add the ingredients together, and we all watched on to see how the the experiment would conclude, and it was awesome to see the shaving cream sitting on top of the water, and as we added the food coloring we soon notice the food coloring go inside the shaving cream and into the water forming what looked like rain drops.

We then proceeded to conduct a spontaneous experience by adding milk instead of water and we added the food coloring and we soon noticed that the different colors that the children added were floating on top instead of sinking, we then got a paddle pop stick and began to swell the colors around creating a multi colored rainbow.
